Community Creative Consultancy

The Community Creative Consultancy connects emerging filmmakers with small community nonprofits to create meaningful, mission‑driven media. Apprentices gain invaluable experience while working on real projects that support local organizations.

Cultivate creative confidence

The Community Creative Consultancy gives emerging filmmakers the opportunity to apply their skills in real-world community settings while supporting the storytelling needs of small local nonprofits. Apprentices work alongside experienced mentors on short documentary, promotional, and impact‑driven media projects, gaining practical production experience with industry‑level equipment while contributing to organizations doing meaningful work in the region.

This program strengthens both sides of the creative ecosystem: apprentices build confidence, technical ability, and professional readiness, while community nonprofits receive accessible, high‑quality media that amplifies their mission. It’s a hands‑on pathway that turns learning into service, and service into real‑world filmmaking experience.

Let us tell your story.

Cascadia Media Lab offers extremely competitive, community‑minded pricing for nonprofit partners, ensuring that high‑quality media production remains accessible to organizations with limited budgets.

This apprenticeship is designed so that a majority of the revenue goes directly to the emerging filmmakers doing the work, providing them with meaningful paid experience while keeping costs manageable for small community groups. This structure strengthens the local creative ecosystem by supporting nonprofits and investing directly in the next generation of Pacific Northwest storytellers.
